Leather Classes – Bling My Leather

Leather Workshops

Bling My Leather is now offering a select range of classes and workshops at Mount Mee, just a short drive north of Brisbane.

All tools and materials are provided as part of the workshop for you to make your very own unique and special gift for yourself of someone special.

I do not do leather tooling or stamping. If this is of interest to you, please contact me and I can point you to other facilitators in the greater Brisbane area who would be happy to assist you.

If you are interested in doing a leather class, please contact me to arrange a time.

Classes Include:

Plaiting classes
Basic Belt
Braided Belt
Knife or Tool Sheath
Making a small item such as a coin purse or small clutch bag.

Cancellation Policy:

If you are unable to attend a class for any reason, we will happily transfer you to another class, but regret that workshop courses are not refundable.

Plaiting Workshop

Duration: 6 Hours
Cost: $120

In this class you will learn how to complete a plaited kangaroo leather dog lead, collar or other plaited item.

You can choose to learn how to round plait, flait plait or turk head knots.

You will learn how to cut lace, prepare the lace for plaiting and how to craft a quality plaited item.

This class has a maximum of 4 people so you will receive all the attention and support you need.

Plain Leather Belt Workshop

Duration: 6 Hours
Cost: $160

This is a full belt making experience using premium Italian leather belt blanks.

You can choose between solid brass or stainless steel hardware.

You will learn how to bevel and burnish the edges to create a beautiful finish on your leather and then either set or stitch your choice of hardware.

You will take home a premium quality belt created by you that will last for many years to come.

Braided Leather Belt Workshop

Duration: 8 Hours
Cost: $200

This is a more advanced leather course.

In this course you will learn how to braid a feature to either a belt or bag strap.

You will start with a basic premium Italian leather belt blank and then learn how to add a filler and then braid a feature over the top.

You have a choice of adding either solid brass or stainless steel hardware.

Small Hand Stitched Item Workshop

Duration: 6 Hours
Cost: $120

Introduction to hand stitching in traditional saddle stitch.

In this workshop you will learn how to make a small coin purse, simple bag or pouch.

Optional: You can also stitch your project on my industrial leather sewing machine.

Tool Or Knife Sheath

Duration: 6 Hours
Cost: $160

You can make a custom leather knife sheath for your favourite knife.

Molds available for both "Old Timer" and "Leatherman" pocket knives/tools.

Or you can bring your own knife or tool to the class and make a custom sheath.

All tools and materials provided.

This class has a maxium of 3 people to ensure you have all the attention and support you need.
